Murtaza K. Diwan, MD

Murtaza Diwan, MD is a graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his residency in Anesthesiology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, followed by Critical Care Anesthesiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. Murtaza has been faculty at the University of Michigan since 2014 where he is an Anesthesiologist and surgical intensivist. He has served as the Director of Resident Critical Care education, APD of the Anesthesia Critical Care Medicine fellowship and is currently the program director of the Anesthesia Critical Care fellowship. His focus has been improving the quality of medical education provided to residents and fellows in the intensive care unit. He also serves as the medical director of CVICU since January 2019 and has focused on improving patient safety, quality and team engagement.
