AAPAE Candidate – Powell

Jillian Powell BS, C-TAGME

Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Statement of Interest

I am very interested in this position because the AAPAE has been a huge asset in my career. My first AAPAE meeting, as someone with only a few months of GME experience at the time, helped me get a better understanding of how important our jobs as program coordinators are. In my time in the Anesthesia Education office at Vanderbilt, I have only worked with fellowships. I would love to be able to show support to all program coordinators, with an emphasis on those fellowship coordinators with multiple programs. This past year I was the PC for 4 fellowships and while it was hectic, I was able to streamline those programs. It was incredibly helpful to have my unofficial mentor, Elisabeth Hudson, as a support system to guide me in those busy times. I would love to be able to return that favor. I would thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to continue building this community by being on council.
