AAPAE Candidate – Keller

Callie Keller, BA

University of Virginia

Statement of Interest

I would really like to work on creating a dropbox full of resources and templates for coordinators. We are all continually trying to improve our programs and spend huge amounts of time creating new forms and processes. Perhaps by pooling resources we can assist each other and improve many programs processes. The challenge will not be creating this, it will be making sure we continually update these forms. I'd create folders for Evaluation forms, summative review forms, CCC profiles, orientation forms, recruitment...etc. It takes a village!

Callie Keller is the Education Program Administrator at the University of Virginia for the Department of Anesthesiology. She currently coordinates and manages the Core Residency Program, a Multi-Disciplinary Pain Medicine Fellowship, a Regional and Acute Pain Medicine Fellowship, and an Anesthesia Critical Care Medicine Fellowship, as well as a few non-accredited fellowships in Neuroanesthesia, Regional Anesthesia, Quality and Safety, Medical Simulation, and Education. Callie began her career at UVA in 2013 on a part-time project basis and quickly became enthralled with the genre, facets, and importance of medical education. She greatly enjoys being a liaison between the Chair, faculty and trainees to improve policies, program structure, and trainee experiences. Some of her professional interests involve resident wellness and professionalism, coordinating department team building events, and helping to create a supportive, family environment to train the next generation of anesthesiology clinicians and leaders. This past year due to COVID, Callie helped create a UVA Chief Resident Leadership Program for all residency specialties across their institution. On a personal note, Callie enjoys spending time and adventuring with her husband and four young adult children.
