2018 Academic Caucus

Make plans to attend the ASA Academic Caucus during ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2018!

On behalf of Dr. Jeff Kirsch, SAAAPM Past-President and ASA Academic Anesthesiology Director, and Dr. Michael Lewis, SAAAPM Councilor and ASA Academic Anesthesiology Alternate Director, we invite you to attend the Academic Caucus to be held during the ASA Annual Meeting. The Academic Caucus is currently scheduled for Saturday, October 13 from 7:00AM to 9:00AM (Western) in the Yerba Buena Salon 8 of the Marriott Marquis San Francisco. A light continental breakfast will be available.

The power to influence the direction of our specialty and the ASA is substantially improved by the engagement of members of academic anesthesiology. The purpose of the academic caucus, formed in 2015, is to establish a forum at which academic anesthesiologists can voice their opinions regarding issues facing our specialty and our society. The agenda of the caucus is defined by the Director and Alternate Director for Academic Anesthesiology. A list of topics of importance to the academic anesthesiology community will be identified to be addressed by the ASA Leadership. Candidates for contested elections are invited to present for 5 minutes each at the end of the caucus.

You can view a summary of the 2017 Academic Caucus here.

If you have any topics you would like addressed at this year's Academic Caucus, please contact Dr. Jeff Kirsch (kirschje@ohsu.edu) or Dr. Michael Lewis (mlewis2@hfhs.org).

We look forward to your attendance!
