University of Rochester

Rena Gresh is currently the Anesthesiology Residency Program Coordinator at the University of Rochester’s Medical Center in Rochester, NY. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance from the University of Michigan, Rena was a widely sought after pit musician, faculty member, and private instructor in the Metro-Detroit region. In addition, Rena spent fifteen years as a high-level business manager prior to starting with URMC. In her current position, in conjunction with the hospital’s GME department, Rena started an educational program for the institution’s program coordinators, focusing on a deep dive into ACGME’s CPRs. She presented a poster on this topic at the 2020 ACGME Annual Educational Conference with her Program Director Emeritus, Dr. Suzanne Karan. Passionate about Lean processes and waste elimination, she has re-vamped and streamlined aspects of the Anesthesiology Residency Program, thus allowing more room for continued educational innovations. A life-long learner, Rena has embraced the medical education profession, and greatly enjoys bringing her unique background into the field.
