AASPD Candidate – McGough

Edward McGough, MD

University of Florida

I attended Medical School at The University of Michigan then completed an internship, Anesthesia Residency and Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at The University of Florida. That was followed by a position as an attending at The University of Colorado doing Critical Care Medicine, Cardiac Anesthesiology and Liver Transplant Anesthesiology. After 24 years in private practice, including 15 years as a managing partner, I returned to The University of Florida as a Cardiac Anesthesia Attending and Critical Care Attending covering the Cardiac ICU. During the last two and a half years, while serving as Associate Program Director for the Adult Cardiac Anesthesia Fellowship, we have doubled the size of our fellowship, opened a new dedicated Cardiac, Vascular and Neuromedicine hospital, double the critical care space for cardiac patients, and double the number of fellow teaching conferences. In addition to being Program Director for an Adult Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship, I am a faculty member for the Anesthesia Critical Care Fellowship and the Combined Cardiac Anesthesia/Critical Care Medicine Fellowship.
