AASPD Candidate – Kaynar

A. Murat Kaynar, MD, MPH

University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine

Dr. Murat Kaynar earned his medical degree from the University of Istanbul School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital under the mentorship of Dr. Simon Gelman and then completed his anesthesiology CCM fellowship at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center under the mentorship of Dr. Alan Lisbon. Dr. Kaynar is the program director for the ACCM fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, practicing both anesthesiology and critical care medicine. His research is focused on the long-term outcomes following sepsis in pre-clinical models of sepsis. His work has been continuously supported by NHLBI.

Dr. Kaynar wishes to address the problem of stagnant recruitment numbers in the field of anesthesiology critical care medicine. He has the vision of serving SAAAPM by promoting research and research-inspired themes for current and future generations of anesthesiology intensivists to bring a stronger voice for our profession within healthcare systems.

Murat lives in Pittsburgh with his wife and two sons, enjoys classical music and is experiencing the college admission process with his older son. Thank you for considering Murat's candidacy.
