AACPD Candidate – McConville

Patrick McConville, M.D.

The University of Tennessee-Knoxville

I am interested in serving as secretary for AACPD in the upcoming election. I grew up in Iowa and attended Yale for my undergraduate education. I then went to Tulane for Medical School, and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville for Residency. After a fellowship in Obstetrcial Anesthesia at Wake Forest, I joined the faculty at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Since that time, I have been actively involved in all areas of resident education. I organized and led the Obstetrical Anesthesia lecture series. I have been involved in simulation and re-structure of the didactic program. As a former Associate Program Director and now Program Director, I have found all aspects of residency education enjoyable. I became an applied examiner in 2016 and met so many fantastic anesthesiologists from around the country.

There are two reasons for wanting to serve in the role of secretary for the AACPD: I want to collaborate with great people from programs across the country, and secondly I want to enhance that collaboration moving forward as a society. I would be honored to do so.
