Timothy R. Long, M.D.

Timothy R. Long, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education (MCSGME) in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Long has served as residency program director for ten years and vice chair for education for eight years in the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine. He has been a member of the Graduate Education Committee for Surgery and Surgical Specialties at MCSGME for eight years and has been Vice-chair of the committee for the past seven years. Additionally, Dr. Long served as interim Associate Dean in MCSGME from January through June, 2014. Dr. Long is currently serving his second two year term as a Council member of the AACPD.

Dr. Long received his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan and completed his residency at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education. He subsequently spent two years in private practice before returning to Mayo Clinic for a faculty position. Dr. Long has been extensively involved in graduate medical education since his appointment to the Mayo Clinic staff in 2000. He looks forward to continuing to serve the AACPD membership through appointment as Secretary.
